DEMONSTRATION AND HANDS ON TRAINING OF ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY

The session included a demonstration and hands-on training in echocardiography, where participants had the opportunity to observe live demonstrations and practice using the echocardiography equipment. This practical session allowed for a deeper understanding of the techniques and application of echocardiographic procedures. Participants actively engaged in learning the process to enhance their skills.

RISING THREAT OF INVASIVE FUNGAL INFECTION

The CME session began at 9:30 AM, with various speakers addressing different aspects of invasive fungal infections. Topics covered included the burden of these infections, lab diagnosis, therapeutic approaches, and interesting case discussions. The session concluded with an engaging Q&A segment, allowing participants to clarify doubts and enhance their understanding.

POST GRADUATE CME ON BASIC CONCEPT OF PSYCHOTHEPATY AND NON-SUICIDAL SELF INJURY.

A postgraduate CME on basic concepts of psychiatry was held on 27/09/2023 at Parul Institute of Medical Science and Research. The session covered important topics including “Non-suicidal Self-Injury,” “Basic Concepts of Psychotherapy,” and “What I Learned from My Teachers.” The event provided valuable insights into current psychiatric practices and fostered learning among participants.

INTERACTIVE SESSION ON ETHICAL DILEMMAS IN PERINATAL MEDICINE

A session was held to discuss multiple cases and provide updates on ethical dilemmas in obstetrics and gynecology. Key topics included decision-making in high-risk pregnancies, patient autonomy, and the ethical considerations surrounding interventions like prenatal screening and cesarean sections. The discussion emphasized the importance of balancing medical guidelines with ethical principles to ensure patient-centered care.

EMPOWERING MEDICAL EDUCATORS: INITIATING RESEARCH STUDIES IN HEALTHCARE

The training workshop is designed to empower participants to make significant contributions to medical research, promoting evidence-based practice and advancing medical knowledge. By the end of the session, participants will be able to enhance their research readiness, improve their ability to formulate research questions, strengthen their skills in drafting research proposals, and initiate research projects by submitting proposals to the Institutional Ethics Committee (IEC).

NAAC SENSITIZATION SESSION FOR PIMSR FACULTY

By the end of the session, the faculty members of PIMSR will be sensitized to the importance of accurate data entry and evidence collection in alignment with NAAC criteria. They will gain a clear understanding of the processes required to meet the standards for quality assessment and accreditation, ensuring systematic data management and evidence-based practices.

EMPOWERING EDUCATORS: FOSTERING CHANGE THROUGH PLAYFUL PEDAGOGY AND MORAL LEADERSHIP

The workshop aimed to empower health-professional faculty members by integrating empathy and effective communication into teaching and clinical practice, ultimately improving patient experiences and outcomes. By the end of the session, participants will be able to embrace physical expression, explore body awareness to break free from habitual patterns, apply mindful movement, enhance non-verbal communication and team synchrony, promote teamwork, and develop techniques for cultivating presence in their surroundings. This training will transform educators to guide budding health professionals toward achieving quality outcomes.

WORKSHOP BY WHO IMMUNIZATION AND SURVEILLANCE

The first session on COVID-19 vaccination and strengthening routine immunization schedules was conducted by Dr. Parthasarthi Ganguly, Director of Parul Institute of Public Health. He discussed COVID vaccination strategies and their integration into the routine immunization program. Dr. Arthur Macwan, Surveillance Medical Officer at WHO-NPSN Unit, Vadodara, led sessions on VPD surveillance, MR elimination, and AEFI surveillance, emphasizing the importance of reporting suspicious cases for effective disease surveillance. The final session, on the role of medical colleges in VPD surveillance and elimination, was presented by Dr. Prashant Dave. The event concluded with the facilitation of the speakers and a vote of thanks by Dr. Praveen Suthar.

CME: UPDATE IN GASTROENTEROLOGY

An update on Gastroenterology was organized on 08-08-2023 from 0900 to 1300, with 150 delegates participating in the event. The CME program began with registration, followed by a welcome and introduction of guest speakers. Dr. Amalkumar Bhattacharya presented an introductory session on gastroenterology, while Dr. Prashant Buch discussed the diagnosis of IBS. Dr. Jatin Agrawal led an interactive session on the management of IBS, and Dr. Aeshal Parmar and Dr. Akshit Shah covered the management of non-variceal and variceal bleeding, respectively. The session was highly engaging and well-received by all attendees.

CME: UPDATE IN DIABETES

An Update in Diabetes CME was organized on 31-10-2023 from 0900 to 1300, with 120 delegates participating in the event. The session began with registration, followed by a welcome and introduction of guest speakers. Dr. Amalkumar Bhattacharya presented an update on diabetes, and Dr. Samir Saini discussed diabetes myths, facts, and intricacies. Dr. Chirag Sheth led an interactive session on how diabetes affects the management of cardiac diseases, while Dr. Dishank Patel addressed diabetes in the elderly. Dr. Niyant Pandya spoke on ophthalmic manifestations, and Dr. Aparna Kekan provided insights into diabetic retinopathy. The event was highly engaging and well-appreciated by all participants.

CME: ENHANCING DIABETES MANAGEMENT

The “Enhancing Diabetes Management” CME was organized on 18-11-2023 from 0900 to 1300, with 120 delegates participating in an engaging session. The program began with registration, followed by a welcome and introduction of guest speakers. Dr. Amal Bhattacharya presented on “Diabetes and Beyond,” and Dr. Anand Ahuja discussed diabetes dyslipidemia. Dr. Krishna Shah covered the pathophysiology of diabetes, while Dr. V.C. Chauhan highlighted recent advances in cardiology. Dr. Mahima Chhajer led an interactive session on diabetes and heart failure. The session was highly informative and well-received by all participants.

CME ON UPDATE IN HEMATO ONCOLOGY

The “Updates in Hematology” CME was organized on 03-04-2024 from 0900 to 1200, with 90 delegates participating in an interactive session. The program began with registration, followed by a welcome and introduction of guest speakers. Dr. Amalkumar Bhattacharya presented on “Update in Hemato-Oncology,” and Dr. Niraj Bhatt discussed the approach to patients with anemia. Dr. Divyesh Patel covered advances in hematology, while Dr. Akshit focused on the diagnosis and management of hepatocellular carcinoma. Dr. Juhi Ramnani held an interactive session on updates in sickle cell anemia. The session was highly engaging and well-appreciated by all participants.
